Lots of space and quick ways – this was the challenge for the ÖBB group headquarters opened in 2014 on the southern forecourt of the new Vienna main train station. On a surface of 46.000 square meters mainly offices were built, but there is also space for gastronomy and retail. The station building has five levels which are connected through eight stairwells: passersby have an easy access to the underground garage with 600 parking spaces, a shopping center, platforms, city railway and subway.

Safety comes first – also during planning and construction the ecofriendly mobility provider attached great importance to safety. Especially a suffient number of info-points, screens and a clear escape route system, which have been realized with din-escape signs and din-safety luminaires in LED contribute to this.

One floor of the building is used by the medical centre "Diagnosezentrum Favoriten". The emergency and safety lighting STRING ARC integrates itself discreetly into the architecture.
